NBPCA has published a brochure on child abuse prevention that can be distributed freely in your community. The brochure will help the public identify and report suspected cases of child abuse before irretrievable damage is done to an innocent child.
Body:  additional paragraphs which provide supporting material and further details (i.e., direct quotes, relevant background information, statistics, etc.) – as well as the Call to Action (e.g., Download, Learn More, Purchase).
A trend I’ve noticed is that many past press release websites are no longer free (but let you set up a free account to then pay). If you find any of these sites no longer offer free press release distribution, let us know by commenting below.
SILVER SPRING, Md., March 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — As part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s ongoing efforts to protect consumers from health fraud, the agency is reminding consumers to be wary of unapproved products claiming to…
I get asked all the time if I can I provide a list of free press release submission companies. Despite being antithetical to my press release distribution business, which relies on reaching media directly by email and dedicated newswire feeds to newsrooms nationwide, I thought it would be worth venturing into this murky world to give you a comprehensive list of free press release websites. I caution you to use at your own risk and to realize that a free press release is not a mechanism of public relations or PR, but an offshoot of search engine optimization (SEO) — with no proven track record of actually improving a website’s SEO.
Add your contact information. If your press release is really newsworthy, journalists would surely like more information or would like to interview key people associated with it. If you are comfortable with the idea of letting your key people be contacted directly by media, you can provide their contact details on the press release page itself. For example, in the case of an innovation, you can provide the contact information of your engineering or research team for the media.
If all goes according to plan, and your press release gets picked up by the media, your job still isn’t finished. To keep the buzz going, you can release a second wave of distribution by sharing the specific stories that news outlets write based on your press release.
5. CALL TO ACTION: Most readers won’t make it to the bottom of the page. Insert your call to action link for the public after the first or second paragraph. Restrained use of links directs readers to a specific call to action.
However, most press releases never accomplish that. Most press releases are just spray and pray. Nobody reads them, least of all the reporters and editors for whom they’re intended. Worst case, a badly-written press release simply makes your firm look clueless and stupid.
NORTH ADAMS, MASS. — The first paragraph of an event release includes the College’s name and mentions the guest’s name, his/her title (if applicable), as well as the event title and the day, date, time and location. (Example: Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) announces environmentalist John Smith will deliver a lecture, “Green Living in the Berkshires,” on Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. in the Sammer Dennis Room (218), in Murdock Hall on the MCLA campus.)
A legitimate, paid new release distribution service such as Business Wire has far greater credibility among journalists and search engines. The paid press release services get your company news directly in front of actual journalists, resulting in placements in print, broadcast and online news outlets. Business Wire has arranged for automatic publication of news releases it issues in dozens of influential online news sources with high ranking. With placements in recognized news sources, you can be pretty certain that your news release will be shown in major search engine results including Google News.
In the not-too-distant past, businesses and SEO agencies used the sites as an SEO ploy. They would stuff low-quality news releases with keyword-filled backlinks and send them to scores of press release distribution sites in an effort to game Google’s algorithm. In response, Google’s 2012 Panda update severely penalized the sites. It rendered the SEO value of their links virtually worthless and classified many of the sites as spam.
