national press release sample announcements

Submitting a press release is self-explanatory and somewhat repetitious. Once you submit a press release at one of my recommended sites, you will realize that the other sites have a similar submission process. Depending on how many press releases that you intend to submit (and how different they are in content from one another), you may want to narrow down your selection.
It can be tempting to provide superfluous facts and tidbits about your company or the development of your announcement — we sometimes think a piece of writing is lacking if it isn’t drawn-out and just shy of being a novella. However, a press release needs to be helpful and concise.
Beth, the answer lies in reaching the broader audience of workers, particularly those who are covered by workman’s comp, before they are injured. If you work backward from their problems and situations, you should be able to determine what they need to know in advance of need of services. That understanding, in turn, would determine content choices to reach them where they are so they know you’re a Does that help? Sherri
Our analysis of a distribution’s customer support covers various elements of communication across web, phone, and social media channels for individuals which would want to contact the distributor of the releases. We analyze their ability to communicate quickly and effectively with audiences including those submitting news releases, those publishing the news releases, and those which may be inquiring about the particular details of a release.
Final Thoughts: Should you give this site a chance? It is a gamble. A high subscription fee and limited results seem to point away from this site. It may be wise to continue looking elsewhere, if you can’t afford it.
Of all the press release distribution services covered here, perhaps the one that is most unlike all the others is HARO (Help a Reporter Out). The service launched as a way to connect journalists with relevant sources. The basic idea here is that journalists are often working under tight deadlines, and may be having a hard time finding a key source or expert who can comment on the story. Using HARO, this journalist would gain access to some of the top sources out there.
It takes times to write a press release effectively. After all, it is only half the battle. But once written nicely, it can add a spark your business and its sales. Now that you know how to write a press release, have its template and format, we are sure you will never get stuck when tasked with writing a press release. Even if you do, follow the tips or search for a sample press release which is easily available online. Good luck!
The last one sounds harsh, but is probably the most important: you might be excited about your new marketing director or the launch of your new product, but will anyone else be interested? If the answer is no, hold off on that press release until you’ve got a better story.
Event:  outline the who, what, when, where and why of an event with the goal that the media will talk about it and/or attend themselves.  Example headline:  “ABC Company’s Annual Golf Tournament for Local Schools to Take Place on Friday, June 7.”
If you want to get started without professional help, there are plenty of services that offer easy and inexpensive distribution. PRweb.com is a popular option, and they have many options for releasing online press releases.
For your brand building it is better to share the articles written about you rather than just your own virtual press office – and don’t forget to add links to the articles to your “featured in” section on your EPK website.
Write a boilerplate underneath the body of your release. That means it’s time to include information about your company. When a journalist picks up your press release for a story, he or she would logically have to mention the company in the news article. Journalists can then get the company information from this section.
LetterPress Chocolate, the first bean to bar chocolate maker in Los Angeles, has partnered with Ucayali River Cacao in Peru to help farmers move away from Coca production to Cacao. Coca is processed into cocaine and is a very dangerous venture.
The press release was an announcement that my client’s books were available at the Fest for Beatles Fans event in Chicago and they can be purchased already signed by the authors. Not only did this create a boom for my author’s books, it generated traffic to the Fest website which has won me brownie points with the owners. This release is also timeless and can be linked to on social media again and again.
RULE #2: Have a newsworthy story. To get your message communicated through the publication, you need to convince the reporter/editor that your message (or the story surrounding it) is newsworthy. So it’s got to have appeal to the entire readership of the publication.
Your entire press release should be error free. Have someone else check your grammar and proofread for typographical errors. Double check all links, facts, statistics, data, and contact information before you publish your press release.
In the body of the email, explain what is happening, when and where, who is involved, how it’s done and why it’s newsworthy. Make sure to offer all necessary information – including important dates, names, and locations.
5. CALL TO ACTION: Most readers won’t make it to the bottom of the page. Insert your call to action link for the public after the first or second paragraph. Restrained use of links directs readers to a specific call to action.
Translation: The new release does more stuff. Why the extra verbiage? As I explained in the post Why Marketers Speak Biz Blab, the BS words are simply a way to try to make something unimportant seem important. And, let’s face it, a 6.0 release of a product probably isn’t all that important.
Use title case. Capitalize the first letter of all words in the headline (with the exception of: “a,” “an,” “the,” or prepositions such as: “of,” “to,” or “from”). The combination of upper and lower case makes it easier to read.
Extract important keywords. The simplest method to create the press release headline is to extract the most important keywords from your press release. From these keywords, try to frame a logical and attention-getting statement. If including a summary sentence after the headline, the same rules apply. Using keywords early will give you better visibility in search engines, and it will be simpler for journalists and readers to get the idea of the press release content. Look at the actions in this first step, and notice how every one of them could be a press release headline.

I slogged through writing a press release last year on my own, and it was pretty bad. It wasn’t all that clear and didn’t get picked up by anyone, but at least it took me a long time! I’ve been dreading the creation of this year’s version, but I have new hope now!
That means your release needs a good headline. That can be something saying how your new product is going to make life easier, or how it relates to a news event. Your headline should be an attention-grabber, so reporters can see right away how the announcement affects their audience.
Here’s a press release that was created for fitness expert Pauline Nordin. It starts with the most important information: a new app release, and follows with a reason why you should care (Nordin outsold famed fitness trainer Jillian Michaels). It was effective because it gave all of the facts and was easily quotable for journalists interested in the story.
Start a press release with an attention-grabbing headline in bold font. Begin the body copy with the date and city that the release is from. Your lead sentence should be a concise summary of the subject of the release. The rest of the body tells all the important details of your story: who, what, when where why and how. Put the most important information first, followed by more general information, and don’t forget to include your contact information at the end.
