hawaiian military preparedness press release missile alert basic media release form

WASHINGTON — Free Press on Wednesday condemned the Federal Communications Commission for waging a war on the poor by moving forward with a proceeding to deny essential broadband and telephone subsidies to low-income people.
The dateline: Begin with a dateline of the city in which the press release originated and the date it was issued. This is especially important for small businesses that are distributing their press release to the local media.
Press releases are also known as news releases. Back to basics, it means just that: news. If you’ve been marketing the same heating pad for 20 years and nothing’s changed, there’s no reason to write a press release. Editors will snub their nose and then line the bottom of their trash can.
You don’t always get many options when you are looking for the best press release sites; some offer only limited media exposure with no other choices if you want to pay a little to get a wider exposure.
WASHINGTON – The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity, within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, announces today the “SuperTools” program, a multi-year research effort to develop comprehensive software tools for designing and analyzing superconducting electronics circuits.
The balance of the press release serves to back up whatever claims were made in the lead and headline. In this case, you’d pull some quotes from the message boards (an aside here: if you really were to pull quotes in this fashion, you should only use the poster’s name or identifying information with his or her permission. Otherwise, simply say a 14 year old boy said… or a 16 year old Midwestern girl added… Also, if this technique appeals to you, be certain that a disclaimer appears on your message boards notifying posters that all posts become your property and copyright). Use enough supporting material to make your case, and to demonstrate that, whatever angle you’re promoting, it wasn’t something you slapped together carelessly.
Bad publicity could be due to anything such as an industrial accident, a racist statement, a product recall or anything else. A defensive press release is required to resolve such issues and clear the misunderstanding from the minds of the consumer. In this type of press release, the language and tone is different. The tactical language ensures you put a good spin on the bad news to make it uplifting.
Your CTA needs an action word (i.e., sign up or view) that prompts the reader to take the next desired step. Use language that creates urgency, such as Today or Limited Supply. Decide what action you want your readers to take, and craft a CTA that will nudge them in that direction.
PRWeb: PRWeb has the cheapest distribution option. We used the Basic package, which is only $99. However, it provided ZERO results. Seriously, not a single site picked up our press release. It was an absolute waste of money. You get what you pay for right?
If your press release has gone onto a second page, you’ve probably got two or more stories. (Or you’ve padded it out with irrelevant, self-congratulatory quotes from ‘important’ people you’ve been told have to be included.)
Articles should be as up-beat and positive as possible. Avoid phrases like following the resignation of the previous chairman or after a period of inactivity. A journalist could decide to investigate those matters instead of reporting what is in the press release and—–even if the circumstances were completely innocuous, for instance if the chairman had resigned due to ill health—–the resulting copy might not be to your liking.
Example: A home security company is launching a new website with improved useability and customized features. Since the news is general and not talking about a specific product or service, we’ll usually point the links back to the company’s home page.
Sending out hundreds of press releases one by one is usually more time intensive than most companies can handle. This is especially true if they are running lean and handling press release distribution with a small staff.
The key is to spend some time absorbing the news in your community and finding ways your business can fit into the stories of the day. Was there a huge storm that just passed through? An insurance agency can talk to reporters about how to file claims or make sure you have coverage for the next weather event. A tree service can discuss the best way to get broken limbs off your property safety. A roofing contractor can discuss why your roof should be inspected to look for hidden damage. The key is to offer the reporter an expert source who can add depth to the story and tips their readers/viewers can use.
Part of the body can include different types of media content, such as photos, videos, and audio clips. Be sure to also include the original files so that your media contacts can use these clips if they wish. Media content can help you stand out on both social media and search engines.

These challenges are international in scope and are priorities for the Central Intelligence Agency. If you have information about these or other national security challenges, please provide it through our secure online form. The information you provide will be protected and confidential. The CIA is particularly interested in information about imminent or planned terrorist attacks. Your release should be relatively short – two or three pages, max. Keeping the release to one page does not necessarily improve readability, which is what you’re aiming for. Subheads are also useful to grab the reader’s attention.

TV news viewers can often detect the use of VNRs within television newscasts; for example, many movie-star interviews are actually VNRs, taped on a set which is located at the movie studio and decorated with the movie’s logo. Another frequent example of VNRs masquerading as news footage is videotapes of particular medical breakthroughs, that are really produced and distributed by pharmaceutical companies for the purpose of selling new medicines.
On the About Us page, they display a video that introduces many of their team members, including their founder. Each employee also has an extensive bio that really helps you get to know them and feel connected.
In our Quick & Easy Guide to Sharing Your Press Release with the World, we provide tips on these and other press release nuts and bolts. But, while the basic bones of all releases should remain the same, each press release’s purpose will present key differences in the way it should be formatted.
Get serious about building relationships with journalists and influencers in your industry. In the real estate industry, for example, Twitter is not mainstream. However, we leverage Twitter for sourcing news for our blog and relationship building with government agencies, journalists, and writers. I put contacts in lists, include their stories in our blog posts, retweet their work, and I also capture their contact information and connect with them on other social platforms. When I do have something important to reach out about with these contacts, the goal is for them to see my email and say: “Oh, I know this guy” and have that also have a positive undertone. This is a longtail, relationship building strategy, one that your competitors are unlikely to follow.
The following is a great press release example. It has a sales aspect to it (something you typically want), it’s on a topic that’s worthy of being written about, it reads like an actual article (another key attribute), and it’s got some good quotes in it as well.
Reducing greenhouse-gas emissions is not enough to limit global warming to a level that wouldn’t risk young people’s future, according to a new study published in Earth System Dynamics by a team of scientists who say we need negative emissions. Measures such as reforestation could accomplish much of the needed CO2 removal from the atmosphere, but continued high fossil fuel emissions would demand expensive technological solutions to extract CO2 and prevent dangerous warming.
Explain about your company, and include a link to your company’s home page. Include titles of the people you cite, whether it’s a CEO, CFO, or another title that isn’t an alphabet soup combination. If you use statistics or data, link to the appropriate source material.
While content, like blogs, may allow for plenty of creativity in style and structure, the same isn’t true when writing a press release. Paid and free press releases all should follow a set format which includes the headline, intro, essentials of the story, quotes, and then a brief ending.
Professionals say to be mindful of what kind of organization you’re reaching out to as well: a reporter at an environmental magazine, for instance, might be turned off by a flood of paper-consuming messages coming from the fax machine.
Since a press release is supposed to look and feel like a story in a newspaper, it’s important to include a location and date stamp at the beginning of the first paragraph. Something like, Palo Alto, CA – February 5, 2007. Like a standard news story, the first sentence, or lede, should summarize the main news of the press release in 25 words or less [source: Concept Marketing Group].
In your case, I would look at eRelease’s distribution list (Click “Where Does it Go?”) see the list of publications they send to under the “Banking and Financial Services” category, or perhaps “Investments.”
