Always remember that many editing teams are overworked understaffed. If you can make life easier for them, you’re more likely to get coverage. If you write a press release that’s close to the way the editor will actually publish it, it may see publication with minimal editing. But if you fill it with fluffy advertising copy, don’t use proper AP style, etc., the editor will surely delete this kind of fluff. Everybody says they’re the leader. Don’t waste the editor’s time. The place to put a description is in the company information section of the release. But keep it accurate and factual.
The best way to find the best PR sites is to talk developers who are making apps like yours and learn what is working for them. Getting press coverage can be tough, but one good mention can be the difference between becoming well-known quickly and grinding it out for several months.
Thanks Nitisha. In the UK, at least, you can’t get a press release published in the traditional sense. You give or send it to the editor or journalist and if it’s a good story, they’ll decide to run it or not. You should study your target publications first to see if your story is relevant to their readership. If a publication wants to charge for your story, that’s not PR, that’s advertising. In that case, you decide what you want say and where you want it to appear. For more information on PR visit the CIPR or PRCA websites.
Since you have a very limited space in your subject line to capture the attention of journalists, I recommend that you don’t waste precious space by putting ‘press release’ or ‘story idea’ in the subject line. Journalists are used to receiving email pitches, so they know to expect a press release.
The more newsworthy you make the press release copy, the better the chances of it being selected by a journalist for reporting. Find out what newsworthy means to a given market and use this knowledge to hook the editor or reporter.

Ensure that your social channels are all set up to syndicate your press release. Key channels to consider include: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, Pinterest, Instagram, Google Plus, Delicious, and Pitch Engine. When syndicating your press release, you will want to access the dashboard and find different major mediums that it was posted to for distribution. Use a different medium for each social channel syndication. For example:
Social Post: You create a customized tweet (typically your headline) and we will send this out via PR Newswire’s primary Twitter handle (@PRNalert) and up to 3 additional PR Newswire industry specific handles.  (List Attached)
