6. Get in touch with industry bloggers and send them the PDF of your freemium. Include a link to the RCLP and a short bulleted list of take-aways to make their job easier when reviewing the product. Collect their Twitter addresses too, so you can @ them (just once, don’t be that guy!)
We can write the releases for you, or if you send us one of your own, we will check it is newsworthy and editorially appropriate and publish it for everyone to see. And, our meticulous team will get in touch if there are any mistakes or editorial changes that will help to maximise the number of people your news will reach… if that’s OK with you?

If you’re relying on a free press release distribution service to get your news in front of journalists and bloggers, the odds are that it isn’t going to work except perhaps in a few special cases. If you really must use a wire service, you’d be better served with a premium service. Having said all that, one of the best ways to get journalists interested in your news is traditional PR media relations – find the right journalist, get your story straight and pitch it. We’ve got a series of how-to’s and guides on writing press releases and pitching to the press in our articles on effective press releases.
PrLog’s press release plan has the most features available for free.  With clickable links inside the body (a key feature to increase your website’s SEO), ability to include company logos, unlimited unique press releases, and more, this site allows for a truly customized press release at no cost to you.
With that being said, a few years back, Google started to realize that paid and free press release distribution services were simply being used as a spam tactic, so it has taken a more hardline stance on using them.
Jackson Hole, WY, January, 2018/Newswire – The First Baptist Hospital in Jackson Hole, Wyoming has announced a new member to its hospital team responsible for proactively removing virtually all risk of hospital-based infections. The new team member is the Agent J SuperVac. Agent J is a disinfecting robot that kills 99.9% of all germs that can live in health care environments and will be deployed in each of the hospital’s surgical areas.
My strategy was to present FreightCenter as an exciting place to work where there are many opportunities to grow. Right away, I supported this claim in my lead when I said FreightCenter will announce “a major overhaul of its company positioning and brand.” This statement was purposely used to create curiosity so the reader would continue reading. When writing a release, it’s very important to catch the reader’s attention in your lead. Do this by providing the most important information in a way that will compel the reader to read on. To further support my claim and satisfy the reader’s curiosity, I included a quote from our COO Doug Walls in the third paragraph. The quote should answer any questions the reader might have.
Great article. I’m a total press release noob and your article has enlightened me greatly. We are always coming out with new fax broadcast and fax blast services to offer to the business to business community but have never done press releases before. Now that I have read your fine post we will be doing press releases often. Thank You Very Much!!!
• Company stories – Do your company executives spend their vacation time saving endangered species? Do you have a killer company culture and a 0% turnover rate, and you have secrets to success you can share with others?
This paragraph is your details paragraph. It is here that you give background, stories, history, information, or stats. This is where you paint a picture and bring in all the other stuff you want people to know about your announcement.
Other so called Top 10 lists or Best of the Best lists that you may encounter on other websites only consider two factors: 1) is the service free?; and 2) how much publicity does it generate for me? They don’t consider other important factors to determine the effectiveness of using such services. In choosing the most effective free PR services, I made sure each one is only free and generates publicity for you, but each service ALSO: 1) attracts moderate to high traffic EACH DAY to its site; 2) has a good PageRank with Google; 3) has a high number of websites linking to it; 4) allows DO FOLLOW links in your press release; 5) distributes your press release via RSS feeds and social media tools; 6) builds backlinks to your website; 7) improves your RANKING in search engine results.
The last step in writing a press release is to write the phone number(s), fax, email, website addresses and other links for social media platforms where the business is active. In addition to this, you can also write about your business partners and potential clients in this section. Make sure you conclude the press release with a call to action.
Whether you’re pitching your press release yourself or hiring somebody else to do it, make sure those pitches go out individually and not as a mass pitch to everyone at once. If you’re hiring a PR pro to manage the writing and/or pitching of your press release, ask if they plan to mass pitch or individually pitch to their list, and insist on the latter up front.
A subheading can be a way to get the inform/intrigue balance right – if your headline is more heavily one function than the other, the subheading can be the place to compensate and redress the balance.
Available to all clients of Online PR Media, including those customers who opt for the free release option, is a live URL link. This is beneficial because it can be shared with clients, stakeholders, partners, and other interested parties.
4. Body. The body of the press release is where you really get to tell the story of the event. This portion of the release will usually have two or three paragraphs. Use the first paragraph to elaborate on the details of the event. Talk about the target audience, any guests who will be featured and their background, and the benefits of attending. If the venue is historic or ties in with your event in some way or the date coincides with history or a special anniversary with your company, mention this. This part of the press release can be a bit more descriptive than previous sections.
Instead of blasting a press release out to every journalist you can find an email address for, focus on a few journalists who have experience covering your industry (and company, hopefully) and send them personalized messages. Connect the dots. Show why what you wrote connects to what they write.
Twitter is a good place to start. Find writers who cover similar productions to yours. If it’s a sci-fi, find the sci-fi enthusiasts. Get to know the content producers. Read / watch their material. Share their material on social media (it goes both ways!). Essentially, you should build relationships with people who have extensive (real) online reach. Check out the Twitter lists on the bottom of this page.
“We are thrilled to partner with CNMW and showcase our products in the leading laser and robot regions of the world”, says owner and CEO of Laser Shooting Robots, Brad Lambert. “Their passion and dedication to making quality robots is already well known. It’s an honor to be able to design alongside their team.”
This list was very helpful, and we will certainly be using this information. However I wanted to ask how should we build up more hype for our upcoming Kickstarter? We are two kids without a lot of money, and without too many connections. We have a website, http://www.boldedesign.com (feel free to check it out and let us know your opinion). However, we can only get so much traffic by pooling from our connections.
Press releases are also known as news releases. Back to basics, it means just that: news. If you’ve been marketing the same heating pad for 20 years and nothing’s changed, there’s no reason to write a press release. Editors will snub their nose and then line the bottom of their trash can.
Miami, FL., January, 2018/Newswire – The Doggy Massage is the latest craze in treating dogs who exhibit nervousness and anxiety, especially during thunderstorms. One pet-loving company, The Pet Spa, Inc., has come up with this wonderful new solution: an at-home massage that you can give your pet in moments of terror.
Include a call to action in your release. This is information on what you want the public to do with the information that you are releasing. For example, do you want readers to buy a product? If so, include information on where the product is available. Do you want readers to visit your website to enter a contest or learn more about your organization? If so, include the website address or a phone number.
Give journalists some time to craft a story around your press release by sending it to them — under embargo — the day before it officially goes live. (FYI under embargo just means they aren’t allowed to share the information in the press release until the time you specify.)
Although the utilization of press release material can save a company time and money, it makes the distributed media boring and similar to the output of other firms. In the digital age, consumers want to get their information instantly and this puts pressure on media companies to output as much material as possible. This often causes them to heavily rely on the use of press releases in order to create their stories.[8]
This press release is also very concise. It states the facts right away. Then followed up with value for the audience. We also add a quote from our CEO, which is valuable, and quotes Day Translations’ first employee, who is still with the company today.
