However, a well-timed press release on the picture put this little book of….umm…whatever…right into the limelight.  This caused the book sales to skyrocket and even had Rob Gronkowski himself do a fake TV trailer for a “Gronking to Remember” movie with HBO’s Funny Or Die.  (Not shown here because it’s pretty inappropriate – I’ve got standards.)
The most important thing to think about when writing a press release is the target audience. The readers of a niche magazine or website will be very different to those that read the local newspaper. In fact, you should write different versions of your release for the different audiences you are targeting.
If your press release has gone onto a page, you’ve probably got two or more stories. (Or you’ve padded it out with irrelevant, self-congratulatory quotes from ‘important’ people you’ve been told have to be included.)
