press release package press release for book

The subject alone caught people’s attention, and gave Thrill of the Hunt exposure to increase ticket sales, further promoting our events without additional effort. It was used as a vehicle for interested parties to reach out to Thrill of the Hunt asking for dog scavenger hunts in specific dog friendly areas, or for fundraising opportunities for communities and charities.
Most people think that you can only submit a press release when your business releases a new product or wins an award. This creative press release plays on people’s fascination with the supernatural in order to gain traction in the media. It also has an attention grabbing title and was sent out at the end of September in order to be perfectly timed with the upcoming Halloween holiday.
Tie it together. Provide some extra information links that support your press release. Does the company you’re selling have additional information online that readers may find useful? Great. Add it in.
Quotes add life to your press release. When you add a relevant quote to your press release which emphasizes on the core announcement, the media will quote that in their own coverage of the news and you will likely get the attention and generate the positive image you had hoped to establish.
Consider your last paragraph a space for your closing remarks. If you are launching a new product, place the product’s availability here. You can also put the product’s trademark and any pertinent information that you may have that doesn’t fit into the body.
Your press release should be kept to about 500 words (some free PR services require you to keep press releases to 250 words or less.) Press releases should be at least three paragraphs long including the opening paragraph, a supporting paragraph(s), and a closing paragraph that restates or summarizes your main points.
Dateline – CITY, State, Month Day, Year (eReleases) –The opening sentence is the most important element in a press release where you should succinctly summarize what is being announced. The opening paragraph should clearly get the reader’s attention through a strong hook while providing the most important facts. As a best practice, write your press release first then come back and develop the opening paragraph as a summary of the press release. Then compare this new opening paragraph with your initial first paragraph.
Another site that has appeared to make a fairly strong entry is NEWSLINE360 – They allow for unlimited submissions of press releases, articles and more while providing an amazing looking newsroom that integrates with your social media. It is actually kind of trippy, all the things it does!!
What separates i-NewsWire from all the other online press release websites is the impressive listing of all their distribution partnering companies. The channels included on the home page range from RSS feed distribution, search engine distribution, and new sites distribution.
Second, when you use PR software to mass pitch emails the same rules apply as when you’re sending email newsletters – there’s going to be a big ugly “unsubscribe” option for journalists to remove themselves from your list (which they never subscribed to in the first place). That’s weird, impersonal, and indicative of a lazy or incompetent PR rep.
1. Your release gets posted on PRWeb, PRNewswire or whatever press release distribution service(s) you choose. One-off, DIY national press release distribution via these services costs around $400. PRNewswire has a nifty option that puts your press release headline and photo on a giant screen in Times Square for just long enough for them to capture the image, which you can use in future marketing materials. This costs substantially more.
However, the real marketing magic comes when you know how to do the above well.  When you get that, a press release for your book can be a game changer for your sales and authority – not just a pride metric like many use it for.
Giving back is what separates one company from another in a recent poll of Millenniums. Our customer base of B2B companies and nonprofit organizations crosses all generations, so we thought it was important to remind our customers that DollarDays’ social mission to help communities is a core component of our identity. And what better way to do that but to double the donations during the month of March.
Thanks for the post and the great dialogue in the comments. Where/how should I include the press kit on my game website? For example, could do a link to download the press kit (i.e. PDF/Word docs, images in a zip file), and/or expect folks to copy/paste it from the launch website itself. Thanks in advance for your advice 🙂
8) Complement your existing marketing campaigns. A press release or a series of press releases that span many months can work jointly with other types of marketing, such as article distribution, social networking, and pay-per-click ads.
After the title, use a paragraph or two to describe your company with 5 or 6 lines each. The text must describe your company, its core business and the business policy. Many businesses already have professionally written brochures, presentations, business plans, etc. That introductory text can be put here.
Start a press release with an attention-grabbing headline in bold font. Begin the body copy with the date and city that the release is from. Your lead sentence should be a concise summary of the subject of the release. The rest of the body tells all the important details of your story: who, what, when where why and how. Put the most important information first, followed by more general information, and don’t forget to include your contact information at the end.
When you’re satisfied with your release, click “Next Step:  Payment” to pay for, confirm and submit your order.  (If you don’t already have an account, you will be asked to fill out a short registration form before submitting your order.)
For example, a while back I received a press release containing the following sentence: Release 6.0 doubles the level of functionality available, providing organizations of all sizes with a fast-to-deploy, highly robust, and easy-to-use solution to better acquire, retain, and serve customers.
Experts recommend that your release should also include at least one quote in the body. The quote should come from someone knowledgeable about the announcement being made, such as a product manager if you’re announcing a new invention, or a top executive if announcing company wide changes. The quote can also be used to explain how your announcement makes you stand out from other competitors, even if you don’t mention them by name.
The remainder of the body paragraphs serve to complete the story you have introduced in the headline and 1st body paragraph. Be sure to write in a journalistic style so that media outlets can use your text as-is. Use short paragraphs (2-4 sentences), and feel free to include statistics, hyperlinks, media content and quotes.
You use this template partly because the media don’t have time to plough through why the world needs a new widget or how it was developed (they simply want to know whether or not your new widget is of interest to their audience) and partly because the template makes it easy to cut the story to fit the space available. No need to edit. Simply cut from the bottom paragraph upwards.
If you are emailing press release, copy and paste your headline into the subject line of the email. Just to clarify, your headline will be in the subject line as well as in the body of the email. Whatever you do, don’t put things like, “Read this” or “Latest news from me” in the subject line as it will look like spam.
Press releases over the years have generally followed a standard format, including the same basic pieces of important information. And despite other changes to best practices, every press release still must include the following:
