email text for press release non press releases sample

Submitting a press release is and somewhat repetitious. Once you submit a press release at one of my recommended sites, you will realize that the other sites have a similar submission process. Depending on how many press releases that you intend to submit (and how different they are in content from one another), you may want to narrow down your selection.
A good press release immediately grabs the reader’s attention by explaining why it’s relevant. For a product release, like the free ebook mentioned in this example, readers want to know who the intended audience is and how the product will benefit them.
Write the second paragraph of the body. This area should provide more details about the key benefits of the product and needs it fulfills identified in Step 4. This area is the ‘bulk’ of the press release and can be up to five sentences long.
If all that sounds too difficult, you may want to spend the extra money to get a reporter to write the press release. Any good reporter will make the release look like a story, which means it’s more likely to be picked up and republished. Luckily there are plenty out-of-work reporters out there right now.
PR-USA allows keyword anchor text (be careful not to over-optimize) and automatic URL links. One glitch I found with PR-USA is they randomly published one of my press releases on a different website. The good news is my dofollow link is in tact, but the home page is a PR3, not the stronger PR5 I was hoping for from
While some people mistakenly believe that storytelling is reserved for novels and books, it’s a critical tool for a product-focused press release. The reason is simple: people don’t want to simply hear the features of your new product. Instead, they want to hear why they should use it, how it will change their lives, how you came up with it, and what makes it so different from anything else on the market. Storytelling is the best way to achieve these things.
I tend to model my press releases after the ones written by the professional Public Relations folks I learned from during my 20 years of working in the offline world. In order to get published in newspapers, you needed a compelling title followed by a succinct story written in 3rd person narrative that left the reader wanting more.
Keep it short and sweet to please the search engine powers that be, as well as prospective readers. The optimal length for a press release headline should be 100 characters or fewer. This also helps if people later want to tweet your press release.

Great post! Very useful information. These all are great suggestions. Press release is the best technique to promote your new product or site or services online and it helps to bring traffic to your site and generate backlink.
Why should these people care what you have to say? If you’re sending it to the right audience, it’ll be obvious. If you’re not, well, why are you wasting your time? Give the right people a piece of news (news, not advertising) and you’re on the right track.
Thanks for sharing this, Brian. This piece is a great overview and I found it very informative. I also checked out the link you provided and will read some of the ebooks with press release writing tips.
